2. Why do I enter an area code to do a search?
Not all toll-free numbers work from anywhere in Canada.
Some do, but many are specific to an area (e.g. Ontario, or even Ottawa). When you enter an area code, you will
only get results of toll-free numbers that will work from your area, based on your area code.

3. Do I have to enter an area code?
You have to enter a choice from the drop-down box. If
you pick "Any", you will get all the results regardless
of where the toll-free number will work from (e.g. it may work in Ontario, but not in Alberta).

4. Why is there a "U.S." choice in the drop down box?
You can use this directory from outside of Canada and find toll-free numbers that will work from the United
States. Soon, we will add the capability to let you find numbers that work internationally.

5. Why can't I find what I am looking for?
The Canada Toll Free directory contains national and regional toll-free numbers that are registered with
- Bell Canada
- MTS
- Aliant
- SaskTel
Toll-free numbers that are registered with a telephone company other than those
listed above will not appear in the Canada Toll Free directory.
We hope to have toll-free listings from other telephone companies available in the future.
If you're looking for a number and find that the company
is not in the Canada Toll Free directory, we suggest
that you try the YellowPages.ca™ business search.

6. Help with Searching.
To get good results you must be careful to spell business
names and keywords correctly. If you are unsure of the
spelling of a business name, enter the part of the name
that you know is correct. For instance, if you know
that the first word in a business name is "Neilson" or "Nielson" or "Neilsen" or "Neilson", try searching
for "Niel" or "Neil".
Search words are not case-sensitive. You can type in
any combination of upper case (capital) or lower case
(small) letters and you will get the same results. For
example, if doesn't matter whether you search for "niel",
"Niel", or "niEl": you will get the same results each time.

7. What is a keyword?
A keyword is any word used to describe the kind of information
you are looking for (e.g., hotel). Keywords do not necessarily
appear in the listing name (e.g., if you search for "hotel" you will get the result "Ramada Inn").

8. Why do I occasionally get a javascript error message?
If you are using a browser older than Internet Explorer 6.0, Safari 1.0 or FireFox 1.5,
you will get "javascript error"
messages when you search with the Canada Toll Free directory.
To avoid this, hit "Enter" on your keyboard instead of
the clicking Search when you perform a search,
and the search should work normally with older browsers.
